Âmbar Energia, the company that leads the Uruguaiana plant and the Cuiabá Integrated Project, has as fundamental points of its work the respect for the environment and safety, both of its employees and of the communities where it operates. The Project operates gas pipelines in Brazil and Bolivia and the Thermoelectric Plants (UTE) of Cuiabá and Uruguaiana, maintaining strict safety and quality standards.
The Cuiabá TPP is located within a environmental conservation area preserved by the company with fauna and flora originating from two different ecosystems in the region: the Pantanal and the Cerrado. The recovery of degraded areas in the region is done by planting native seedlings and the reuse of effluents minimizes the consumption of surface water from the Cuiabá River.
Both at the plant and pipelines, employees are made aware of their environmental responsibilities related to the management and disposal of solid waste and chemicals. In the gas pipelines, land coverage and mechanical water containment techniques prevent erosion along the pipeline’s right of way.
Âmbar Energia raises awareness among the population of the communities surrounding the Project areas by distributing specific materials on safety and welfare standards.

Âmbar Energia implements Plans, Programs and Subprograms that minimize negative impacts and enhance the benefits of the projects for impacted communities and cities surrounding the installation of transmission assets.
The Environmental Management and Supervision Program (PGSA, in its Portuguese acronym) aims at correctly monitoring legislation, caring for employees and for the region’s environment. In order to minimize impacts to the physical environment, our work is permeated by actions such as:
.Risk Management Program – provides management tools that ensure environmental safety.
.Solid Waste Management Plan – minimizes waste generation activities.
.Water Protection and Monitoring Program– responsible for preserving the riparian forest and the quality of water along the transmission lines.
For the biotic environment, Âmbar Energia has the Deforestation Monitoring Plan, the Flora Recovering Plan and the Wildlife Rescue Program that cares for the wild animals found in the areas where it operates.
In order to positively impact the social and economic environment, Âmbar ensures the periodic training of its employees and the direct relationship with the communities where it operates, with a view to its productive potential. One action to be highlighted is the Paleontological Investigation, Monitoring and Rescue Program, responsible for the archaeological findings during set up of operations and their preservation.
