The company now operates in 11 states and reinforces its commitment to national energy security
Âmbar Energia, a business unit of the J&F group, has signed an agreement to acquire three thermoelectric plants in Acre, consolidating its presence in 11 Brazilian states. The units, acquired from Rovema, add up to 69.4 MW of installed power and are responsible for supplying about 30 thousand consumer units, equivalent to approximately 20% of the state’s electrical connections. The conclusion of the transaction is subject to the analysis and approval of the competent regulatory bodies.
The plants acquired are: UTE Cruzeiro do Sul (52.8 MW), UTE Feijó (7.2 MW) and UTE Tarauacá (9.4 MW), located in the municipalities of the same name. All units operate with fuel oil and play an essential role in the supply of electricity in the region, recently connected to the National Interconnected System (SIN).
With the incorporation of these units, Âmbar strengthens its presence in the North Region and expands its portfolio of generation sources, contributing to the security of supply and the stability of the Brazilian electricity system.
“By strengthening our operations in the North region, we reaffirm our commitment to energy security and the continuous supply of energy to local communities. The state’s plants are decisive for this purpose”, highlights Marcelo Zanatta, president of Âmbar Energia.
