The company’s generation capacity exceeds 6.5 GW with new acquisitions; plant is the company’s first thermal plant in Goiás
Âmbar Energia, a J&F Group company, has completed the acquisition of the Goiânia II Thermoelectric Power Plant, located in Aparecida de Goiás (GO). With 145 megawatts (MW) of installed capacity, the asset expands the company’s total capacity, which exceeds 6.5 gigawatts (GW) considering ongoing transactions and subject to approval by regulatory bodies.
The acquisition of UTE Goiânia II marks Âmbar’s first thermoelectric operation in the state of Goiás, reinforcing the company’s strategic presence in different regions of the country.
“We continue to be attentive to opportunities to expand and diversify our portfolio, following a strategy oriented towards energy security and meeting the growing demand for energy in Brazil,” says Marcelo Zanatta, president of Âmbar Energia.
With a generation park composed of 50 units that operate with various sources — hydroelectric, solar, biomass, biogas and natural gas, among other –, Âmbar consolidates itself among the largest energy generators in the country.
