Âmbar Energia develops, implements and explores Energy Generation Thermal, Distribution Projects and Commercialization of Energy with an aim to contribute to solving the new challenges of expanding and diversifying the Brazilian energy mix.
A team of highly experienced professionals works to identify opportunities and create solutions that meet the National Interconnected System’s (SIN) challenges. Brazil’s system encompasses the country’s five regions and comprises facilities operated by privately-owned, government-owned and mixed publicly-privately owned companies, regulated and supervised by ANEEL, the National electricity regulatory agency.
In the distribution sector, Âmbar Energia has transmission lines and electric substations in the States of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Goiás and the Federal District.
In the commercialization sector, Âmbar Energia acts through its subsidiary, Âmbar Comercializadora de Energia, based in Sao Paulo. Âmbar Comercializadora is an electric energy trading company, authorized by ANEEL and agent of Câmera de Comercialização de Energia Elétrica – CCEE.
The Generation assets include the Uruguaiana plant and the Cuiabá Integrated Energy Project, with a thermoelectric plant and a set of gas pipelines that transport natural gas from Chiquitos, in Bolivia, to Cuiabá, in Mato Grosso.
Âmbar is the energy company of J&F Investimentos S.A., the largest private economic group in Brazil, with operations in more than 30 countries. J&F’s portfolio is made up of companies such as JBS (global leader in animal protein processing).
